Toronto Honda Car Show-off Event
Alright friends, I’ve noticed some interesting posts on forums about the event, so based on the questions I read, asked around and here is what I got:
1. There is plenty of space allocated for the show-off, so there should be no worries in regards to space issues. Advanced registration is ensuring that we have the ability to plan for the event.
2. There are no driving privileges at the event- your car is driven in, parked, marked and then people have the opportunity to walk around outside and view the vehicles. It is likely you won’t be able to drive out again until the event is over, and if you choose to, your spot will not be reserved.
3. You are allowed to bring more than one car, provided it is properly registered and
photos are sent in accordingly. We are looking to feature clean cars with mods.
4. Food will be served, and yes, this is currently planned as an outdoor event.
5. We will also be registering to connect individuals to our facebook, twitter, youtube and weekly mailing lists at this event. The point of this blog is to connect with Honda fans, find out what they want/need to know, and write articles asap so you can be updated with the inside scoop. I work right on-site at Toronto Honda, so I can get the information you need instantly and directly. Details about cars and deals can be easily provided with your questions.
6. Most Importantly: some people have been mentioning they are not getting responses to their registration. I talked to the coordinator, and he told me he’s emailed everyone back. So if within a week of registering, you didn’t get a response, send me an email and then leave a comment at the bottom of this post letting me know that you sent and email, and I will forward your request to the coordinator.
Have any questions? Drop me a comment below, at the end of the post.. Dont worry – your email address won’t be published online.

TORONTO (January 7, 2009) – Based on its all-time record annual sales of 72,463 units in 2008, Honda Civic became the first passenger car in 15 years to achieve status as the top-selling vehicle, including all cars and trucks, in Canada. The Civic also remained Canada’s top-selling passenger car for an 11th consecutive year, outselling its nearest competitor by 14,727 units.
“We thank Canadian consumers for their continuing vote of confidence in the Civic with its strong value resulting from its excellent fuel efficiency, class-leading standard safety features and fun-to-drive character,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc.
“And with the exception of the Civic Hybrid, all other Civic models sold in Canada are produced right here in Canada. We are proud of our investment in Canada as a vehicle manufacturer with virtually half of all the vehicles we sell in Canada being built in Canada.
“Our manufacturing facility in Alliston, which opened in 1986, represents an investment of $2.6 billion in Canada and currently employs 4,600 Associates. In 2008, out of a total production of 383,011 vehicles at the Alliston facility, almost 300,000 were Civics. In fact, of the nearly 5 million vehicles that our Canadian assembly plant has produced over the past 22 years, about 3 million of those have been Honda Civics.”
Honda Canada manufactures the Honda Civic and Civic Si sedan and coupe, and the Acura CSX sedan and MDX luxury utility vehicle at its two plants in Alliston, Ontario, and produces fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines at its new engine plant adjacent to its Canadian manufacturing facilities. With 135 manufacturing facilities in 28 countries worldwide, Honda attracts more than 24 million customers annually.

“This is a significant accomplishment for Honda in Canada,” said Manabu Nishimae, president and chief executive officer of Honda Canada Inc. “In 1986, we built the first of three factories in Alliston, based on our company’s philosophy to build our products close to our customers. Honda continues to invest its profits back into Canada as we strive to be a company that Canadians will want to exist. We are also committed to the manufacturing of green, safe, fun vehicles. Our donation to the Province, and to Safe Kids Canada is a reflection of this pledge to our Canadian consumers and to consumer safety.”
“Honda has been a major contributor to Ontario and Canada’s economy for forty years,” said Premier McGuinty. “We are honoured by Honda’s gift of its 5 millionth vehicle to the Province of Ontario, and to one of our local charities, from a company that has become part of the Canadian manufacturing landscape.”
