In early April of this year I was in Las Vegas for the Honda Canada National Dealer Meeting. At the meeting we were given a sneak preview of an all new 5 door Honda Crossover Vehicle. It was on stage for 1 minute only and absolutely NO PHOTOGRAPHS allowed. Size wise, it will fall in between a CR-V and a Pilot. Maybe something kind of like a Subaru Tribeca or a Toyota Venza (butt ugly).
Seems like an un-tapped niche to me, something that Honda is great at discovering. Anyone think there is a big market for this type of vehilcle?

I had a client ask me “What”s the difference between Honda and Acura”? I had another client once say “I’m looking at an Acura CSX and not the Civic cause the Civic is too small”.
I think that Honda has done a great job in branding the Acura line as Toyota has done with Lexus. However, I think that most of it is just that…branding. Any comments?

Its interesting, but for a long time, I had no idea Toyota and Lexus were connected, or Acura and Civic. In my opinion they are promoted seperately enough that in the minds of consumers, they are completely different brands. In fact, the only strong connection in branding that I can think of off the top of my head is Mercedes and the Smart Car…
A family member of mine bought a Toyota Sienna not too long ago, and was told there were quite a few Lexus parts in his Sienna …
If even the parts are used interchangably then perhaps it really is only “branding”?

Did you know that Nissan and Infinity are connected as well?

Really? Hmm, thats interesting.
I wonder why the branding is so forceful … maybe luxury models do better when there is no connected association?
